Cocktail O’Clock? Brand New Bar Kits
So, any exciting plans for the weekend? Here at Crosbys there’s been a lot of chat recently about cocktails – some beautiful barware samples have landed which we love, and the entries are piling in to our ‘win a Bonzer Cocktail Kit’ competition.
Almost all bars and restaurants now offer a range of cocktails, and as the availability spreads, so the variety available increases too. Whether your favourite is a traditional staple such as a Mojito or a Cosmopolitan, or an updated alternative such as The Pickleback, the basic kit required remains pretty much the same. While pre-bottled cocktail mixes offer speed & consistency in a busy bar, there really is nothing like the theatre of a good mixologist!
This year there seem to be several innovations & trends filtering through from cutting edge cocktail bars around the globe. Experts predict that the boom in health awareness & juicing will lead to an increase in savoury cocktails, made with fresh vegetables & herbs, and which could be ordered as a starter at dinner. Alongside health awareness, consumers are increasingly interested in provenance, which has led to a huge increase in small regional producers of spirits (will we all now find a use for those holiday liqueurs at the back of the cupboard?!) Another trend which experts feel may become an everyday offering is reduced alcohol cocktails – where the current strength of cocktails means that we switch to wine or beer after a couple of rounds, bar managers hope that by offering lower alcohol options we will keep drinking cocktails for the whole evening. Which sounds good!
As the popularity of cocktails increases, so does the innovation – at the newly opened Hotel Gotham in Manchester they have a cocktail bartender who takes a martini trolley along the corridors offering you a cocktail in your room – sounds perfect eh?
Whether you are looking to make cocktails at home, or increase your offering at work, we have the kit for you. From Tiki skull glasses, through copper barware and muddlers, to ice-machines and glass washers, Crosbys are your one stop shop for all things cocktail.
